  Connie Meijer (Psychiater)

  Connie Meijer was born and raise in Curacao and went to the Netherlands to study at the university.
  After completing her medical studies she went to the UK to specialize in psychiatry.
  She went back to the Netherlands for her Dutch Specialist registration in 1996 and worked there for 15 years, the majority of the time combining managerial and clinical duties.
  In 2011 she returned to te UK and worked there as a consultant psychiatrist in the South-East of Engeland.
  During the COVID epidemic she returned to the Netherlands to be closer to her family and has worked as a ZZP-er in Rotterdam until now.
  For the last 5 years she has worked on an annual basis in Curacao for approximately 2 months per year, working for GGZ-CW.
  In May 2026 she officially retired but still works.
  One of the interests is crisis management, suicidal behavior and management of suicidal behavior and Connie Meijer has contributed to several publications about a new way of managing suicidal behavior.

  Gilbert Thomas (Psychiater)

  Gilbert Thomas is geboren en getogen op Curacao.
  Na de middelbare school heeft hij geneeskunde gestudeerd in Groningen, Nederland.
  Zijn co-schappen heeft hij op Curacao gelopen.
  Na zijn afstuderen heeft hij twee jaar hier gewerkt om vervolgens in Nijmegen de opleiding tot psychiater te volgen.
  Vervolgens heeft hij 10 jaar op Curacao gewerkt. Hierna is hij naar Nederland verhuist en daar eerst in de forensische psychiatrie gewerkt, daarna in de verslavingspsychiatrie en vervolgens als psychiater van de crisisdienst in Ede.
  Hij is nu werkzaam als psychiater op de PAAZ hier in het CMC.
