Verschillende lokale zorgprofessional s (waaronder medische specialisten en verpleegkundigen) zullen aandacht be steden aan dit thema. De zorgtrajecten die aan bod komen\, zijn de oncolog ische zorg\, de zorg voor diabetespatiënten en de ouderenzorg. De ervaring van de ziekenhuisapotheker binnen dit veld levert ook waardevolle inzicht en op voor alle deelnemers.\nHet beter opleiden van zorgprofessionals in i nterprofessioneel werken is noodzakelijk om de gestelde kwaliteitsdoelen t e realiseren. Vanuit het UMCG zal een succesvol programma voor interprofes sioneel opleiden worden gepresenteerd. Treatment is possible up to 24 hour s after the onset of symptoms\, although earlier treatment still leads to better (functional) outcomes.\nWhile these treatments and the necessary di agnostic tools are available in many countries\, access remains limited in many regions\, including most of the Caribbean. Implementing what is now considered basic acute stroke care presents significant challenges on the Caribbean islands\, due to financial\, geographical\, and socioeconomic fa ctors.
