 \nDr. van den Broek-Altenburg is an Assistant Professor of Radiology and V
 ice-Chair of Population Health Science at the University of Vermont Medica
 l Center. She holds a PhD in Health Services Research (cognates in Biostat
 istics\, Epidemiology\, and Economics) (2018)\, MSc in Public Health (2014
 )\, and MA in Political Science (2003).\nHer research focuses on analyzing
  and predicting human decision-making in health. She uses advanced choice 
 modeling methods to analyze patient and provider preferences in terms of t
 heir evaluation of alternative options and trade-offs. She recently receiv
 ed a grant to further explore non-compensatory decision-making in healthca
 re and she is particularly interested in developing models that better cap
 ture individual preference heterogeneity and previously unobserved factors
  that have an effect on preferences for treatment options. She has been de
 veloping patient-centered value assessment methods to inform value-based c
 are incentives.\nDr. van den Broek-Altenburg also evaluates the clinical a
 nd economic effects of healthcare interventions. She leads clinical and ec
 onomic evaluations in Vermont\, using EHR\, claims\, and text data. For th
 e past decade and a half\, Dr. van den Broek-Altenburg has collaborated wi
 th policymakers\, clinicians\, and researchers to develop standardized qua
 ntitative measures to compare health systems and assess health system perf
 ormance. She also leads efforts to improve the data infrastructure facilit
 ating structural health system evaluation.\nSince the global outbreak of C
 OVID-19\, Dr. van den Broek-Altenburg has contributed to a number of popul
 ation health studies\, including one identifying factors that may increase
  or decrease the risk of infection\, and international studies analyzing C
 OVID-19 vaccine preferences and the impact of the crisis on individuals\, 
 both in health\, financial and psychological terms.\nIn 2005\, Dr. van den
  Broek-Altenburg founded a health policy think tank in The Hague and serve
 d as its director until 2012. She has also worked as a health policy fello
 w with several research institutes in Europe and the US and she was a heal
 th policy adviser in the Dutch and European Parliaments. She contributed t
 o the public debate by publishing scholarly papers and op-eds and was freq
 uently seen in the media. In 2012\, she went back to academia and has sinc
